Well, that was a quick summer! Kids today really have it bad. When I was in school, we didn’t even think about school until after Labor Day. The boys barely got two full months off. Well, I guess we didn’t have air conditioners in the schools back then, no snack time and we walked five miles to school, uphill both ways.
The first day of school is the only day the boys wake up in a good mood all year. After that, every morning is all down hill from there. Usually, going from promising to an utter disaster in 0.9 seconds. We get a lot of “I don’t want to brush my teeth!”, “My hair won’t do right!”,”No way am I eating that for lunch”. It usually ends up in a scream fest and someone crying. Usually Mom or Dad!
Anyway, today they were excited about their new clothes and shoes they got to wear for the first time. Thanks to all the grandparents and their Mom. Here’s hoping they have a good year. I can’t believe they are in 4th and 2nd grade! We love you boys!
